The Board set a rate of 16.0p in the £.

The Vice Chairman referred to the death of the present Chairman, Mr T J Mott on Wednesday 30th November 2011. He pointed out that Mr Mott had been a Member of the Board since 1982 and had been Chairman since 2002. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect.

Mr S Calton was appointed as Chairman and Mr J T Reeves was appointed as Vice-Chairman.
Mr S Davis was invited to fill a vacancy on the Board.

The Clerk reminded Members of the need to declare interests in relevant matters. Appropriate declarations were duly made.

The Board received an updated report on the Flood and Coastal Defence Funding Review, the Public Bodies Bill, the Flood and Water Management Act, the Bribery Act 2010. Reports were also given on the Water Framework Directive and Spoil Disposal. The Clerk advised Members of an amendment to the Land Drainage Act 1991.

The Washes Superintendents reported on the drain maintenance works for 2011/2012 and proposals for 2012/2013, They confirmed that the District system was in good order.

The Environmental Officer's newsletter and BAP Implementation Report were noted and approved. The Washes Superintendents gave reports on bird breeding numbers on the Washes during the past year.

Members noted the position regarding the unchanged precept figure and agreed to pay the subscription to ADA for 2012.

The payments and accounts were approved.

Members considered the report of the internal auditor. Members expressed satisfaction with their system of internal control. Members noted the continuing need to monitor health and safety issues. The Cambridgeshire Flood Risk Management Partnership Update was noted. The Board authorised Samantha Ablett to appear in court to obtain distress warrants for non-payment of rates.
